Home Preservation

Our Home Preservation Application Period
is Currently Open from April 1st through June 1st

Our repair programs, A Brush with Kindness and Aging in Place, have been combined into one new repair program called Home Preservation. The Home Preservation program is designed to improve the quality of life and living conditions of low-income homeowners by focusing on both exterior and minor interior home repairs. Applicants are selected based on the ability to pay, need, and willingness to partner and are required to repay the project costs back to Habitat through a no-interest loan. Applicants must own and live in the home which they are applying.

NeedApplicants’ homes must be in need of exterior home repair services but most likely will not be able to pay for the upfront cost of these repairs or physically unable to make the repairs.

Ability to pay: Applicants will need to meet annual income guidelines. Since the applicant will repay a small no-interest loan, Habitat will ensure that no family is debt-burdened by the selection decision.

Willingness to partner: Applicants will be required to complete a set number of “Sweat-Equity” hours either related to their project or in the community.
